The GrippaPOWER split relay is designed for use in situations where auxiliary batteries are being used to power; for example water pumps, controllers, fridges, heating units as used in boats, campers, caravans or vehicle mounted systems that require auxiliary power.

The Battery separator is a microprocessor controlled heavy duty relay that automatically connects batteries in parallel when the prime battery has reached a preset voltage for at least 5 seconds (13,2V/26,4V) (indicating that the battery is being charged), and disconnects when the prime battery voltage decreases below a lower level for at least 5 seconds (12,8V/25,6V) (indicating that the battery is being discharged).

The Battery Separator is an excellent alternative to a battery isolator. The main feature is that there is virtually no voltage loss so that the output voltage of the alternator does not need to be increased. The relay contacts are rated and fused at 100 amps thus allowing the alternators full output to be utilised by the auxiliary batteries. This means that batteries can be returned to being fully charged in the shortest period of time. Another advantage is that the Battery Separator can be mounted as a separate unit without the need to change the existing wiring circuits.

That makes the Battery Separator not only very easy to install, but is sometimes the only option because some alternators do not accept a Battery Isolator between itself and the battery.
