  • Why choose GrippaLiner?
    • When it comes to applying waterproof liner to a vehicle, there are many different options to choose from. When a cleaning system is mounted into your vehicle, you to have the confidence that the bedliner underneath your system will not peal or the waterproofing seal fail.
    • Waterproofing of a vehicle is often part of a much larger vehicle conversion. If we use an inferior product, it would be costly to de-install the fitted equipment to respray. We must be confident of an extremely tough spray finish in order for it withstand the rigours of daily use, and for both you and us to be confident, that once the waterproofing liner is on, it’s on.
  • Guarantee.
    • We offer a LIFETIME manufacturer's fault warranty* on all our floor coating GrippaLiner IP1000 applications. Why?
      • We are so confident in the ability of the product and our application.
      • The professionally applied liner we use permanently bonds to your vehicle's surface. It is a tough, thick, polyurethane polymer coating, which is flexible and protects surfaces from day-to-day wear and tear, weathering, and corrosion. Unlike other off the shelf, paint on, products this product requires industrial tooling and application.

  • How does this product compare to other products on the market?
    • Choosing the right waterproof coating for your vehicle can be quite confusing, with various options on the market, with budgets varying from £100 to £1000. Which one should you choose?
      • Ultimately choosing the right waterproof van lining comes down to
        • (a) how much you can afford
        • (b) how much you want to save on hassle later on in the life of the vehicle.
        • If you choose the wrong product, and then have to remove all of the installed equipment to re-spray the van, it can prove to be very costly. We believe a bedliner needs to be
          • (a) durable
          • (b) rugged
          • (c) waterproof
          • (d) affordable.
        • We don’t distribute spray products, and our interest is in the installation of van mount cleaning systems. However, we must be confident the product we choose to apply to your vehicle, before installing our equipment, will do the job.

Pros

Cons

GrippaLiner IP-1000

Spray-on protective lining which is a polyurethane based coating.

This product is purchased from the UK distributor/importer and is the chosen bedliner for all GrippaTank vehicle installations.

  • Comes with a life-time certificated guarantee, as we are so confident in the durability.
  • Flexible rubberised matt finish which gives an anti-slip waterproofing.
  • Available via many application centres

  • It is not the cheapest option on the market – with applications ranging from £500-800 + vat for a vehicle floor lining (depending on the vehicle size).
  • Must be done in a spray booth by a trained sprayer – you can’t purchase the product to DIY.

Fibreglass Application

Various manufacturers offer various types of kits – widely available.

Fibreglass is applied to a flat surface area, often requiring a van to be pre-lined with ply prior to installation.

Often used in the fridge/freezer vans.

  • Cheap to buy.
  • Easy to wipe clean
  • Some DIY kits available
  • A complicated and messy application, with the need to pre-line the vehicle prior to application
  • Unforgiving – seals can crack when equipment is fitted over the top.
  • Scratches easily.

"Brush on/Roll on, off the shelf” paint style products

There are many off the shelf roll-on paints, that ships as a kit for a DIYer to apply to the vehicle themselves.

  • Cheap to buy
  • Can be “DIY” applied.
  • Not as durable as other linings.
  • Very thin application, which is prone to pre-mature failure.
  • Brittle and known to peal in high usage areas.

Generic Plastic/Ply Linings

A wooden ply liner or a plastic-coated liner is often supplied with a vehicle as standard.

  • Cheap, or already pre-fitted in the vehicle.

  • Not waterproof and doesn’t create a protective waterproof seal with the vehicle.
  • Likely to de-laminate and fail quickly, creating mould and damp issues as well as costly remedials on vehicles and mounted equipment and cleaning systems.
